The antique Tango of Argentina originated from the Tango Habanera but has no similarity to the modern tango everyone knows today. The tango habanera came from the milonga and the andaluz or flamenco. Since the andaluz couldn’t be completed with orchestra instruments and piano, it took on the habanera rhythm. The tango habanera came to be in 1883 but seemed to disappear by the end of the century. The flexed knees’ was compared with a dance called Candombe that was danced by the black people from Africa in Buenos Aires. The guy dancers would flex their knees to show their dancing skill with walking steps.In the 1900’s the compradito made the straightened out forms of the antique tango.“His” dance style and stance represented his manly view of his world at that time.Old tango dancers that the real forms of and Argentine tango dancer that are seen today came around in 1938-1940 with Tango singer Carlos Gardel.The original tango was never danced with a flower or with a castanet.There are three forms of tango; Salón, Fantasía and Stage tango, which was for the English speaking people.
